Admissions Exercises

Candidates may apply for admission to any polytechnic course through one of the following:

Early Admissions Exercise

The Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) is an aptitude-based admissions exercise that allows students to apply and receive conditional offers for admission to the polytechnics based on their aptitudes and interests, prior to receiving their final grades. It gives the polytechnics greater flexibility to select and admit students on criteria other than their academic grades, thus allowing a wider range of talents to be recognised.

Joint Admissions Exercise

The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) is conducted annually by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to allow Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level certificate holders to apply for admission to courses offered by Junior Colleges (JC), Millennia Institute (MI), Polytechnics (Poly) and Institute of Technical Education (ITE).

Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise

The Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise (JPAE) is organized by the five Polytechnics for ITE Higher NITEC or NITEC holders.

Polytechnic Foundation Program Admissions Exercise

The Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) is a one-year programme that offers a practice-oriented curriculum taught by polytechnic lecturers, to better prepare polytechnic-bound N(A) students for entry into the relevant Polytechnic Diploma courses. This is an alternative to the Sec 5 year.

JAE Appeal

The JAE Appeal Exercise is open only to individuals who have taken part in the current year Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) and wish to make an appeal either for a placement in a diploma course or seek a transfer to another diploma course.

JAE Appeal

The Direct Admissions Exercise caters to applicants who are NOT eligible to participate in the Joint-Poly Admissions Exercises published on this website and also interested Returning Singaporeans and Singapore PRS (who had earlier accompanied their parents on overseas postings).
