The Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise (JPAE) is organized by the five Polytechnics: Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), Republic Polytechnic (RP), Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP). It was introduced in 1992. In this exercise, applicants are required to submit only ONE application, which will be considered jointly by the Polytechnics concerned.

The following categories of applicants may apply through the JPAE:

1. Holders of relevant Higher NITEC or ITC/CBS and NITEC/NTC-2 who have
   sat for "O" / "N" level.
2. Holders of STPM;
3. Holders of SPM

Those who have attended courses at or graduated from a University or Polytechnic are NOT eligible to apply under the JPAE. If they do so, their applications will be invalidated.
