Applicants for the Joint Polytechnic Special Admissions
Exercise (JPSAE) must either:
A) demonstrate a strong passion or aptitude through:
-
Work attachments;
-
Sustained involvement in projects; and
-
Outstanding performance in competitions e.g. Maths/Science Olympiads.
OR
B) possess exceptional talent in areas such as:
Sports
-
Applicant has obtained awards or achievements at zonal / national sports competitions;
or
- Applicant is a national player.
Arts
-
Applicant has obtained awards or achievements at zonal / national arts events (e.g.
SYF Award); or
- Applicant is a performer for an arts group (e.g. Singapore National
Youth Orchestra, Theatreworks etc.).
Community Service
- Applicant was a key appointment holder in the organising committee
of a project that was designed to benefit the community at large (beyond the secondary
school).
Leadership
- Applicant was a key appointment holder in a CCA group and had organised
school-wide events and beyond.
Entrepreneurship
-
Applicant has obtained awards or achievements at inter-school entrepreneurship events;
or
- Applicant is performing a key role in the setting up or management
of a business.
Applicants will be assessed based on the following indicators:

Portfolio of awards or achievements;
-
Performance at selection audition/trial; and/or
-
Performance at selection interview; and/or
- Recommendations from school principals or relevant organisations.
Applicants are expected to produce/provide documentary proof of the statements made
in their applications (concerning their passion, aptitude and talent/achievement
in sports, arts, community service, entrepreneurship and leadership). Shortlisted
applicants will be required to submit these documents at each of the auditions/trials/interviews/aptitude
tests.
