NANYANG POLYTECHNIC (NYP)

Digital Entertainment Technology (Games) (C70) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for computer programming and be interested in using technology for digital entertainment related software development. They should also have a strong interest in the games industry, keeping abreast of the latest developments. Details of experience in computer programming, achievements received and the career aspirations in the course are to be provided.
Digital Media Design (Animation) (C61) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for creativity and flair in design as evidenced by project or portfolio work. They should have a strong interest in drawing, storytelling, animation and visual development. A good understanding of the animation industry is necessary. Details on background/experience in design related activities, achievements received and the career aspirations in the course are to be provided.
Digital Media Design (Games) (C60) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for creativity and flair in design as evidenced by project or portfolio work. They should also have a strong interest in games, animation and/or media design industries. Details on background/experience in the above activities, achievements received and the career aspirations in the course are to be provided.
Digital Media Design (Interaction Design) (C59) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for creativity and flair in graphic, product and/or multimedia design, as evidenced by project or portfolio work. A keen interest in basic scripting and programming is also preferred. Details on background experience in the above and other related activities, achievements received and career aspirations in the course are to be provided.
Digital Visual Effects (C57) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for both problem solving and basic visual creation, as well as a keen interest in visual effects and digital entertainment related content development. Knowledge about the animation and/or visual effects industry will be a bonus factor. Please provide details of any relevant experience in visual effects creation, achievements received and your career aspirations.
Industrial Design (C83) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for creativity and flair in innovative product design as evidenced by project or portfolio work. Details on background/experience in design related activities, achievements received and the career aspirations in the course are to be provided.
Media Studies & Management (C93) Applicants should possess strong interest in the media industry (Advertising, Broadcasting, Journalism, Print & Publishing and Public Relations). They must be creative and possess strong language skills with a flair for writing. Applicants with prior involvement in media-related projects (eg, video or print productions, emceeing experience) will be favourably considered.
Motion Graphics & Broadcast Design (C66) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for creativity and flair in motion graphic and broadcast design as evidenced by project or portfolio work. They should also have a strong interest in digital media, time-based animation, visual effects and/or advertising industries. Details on background/experience in the above activities, achievements received and the career aspirations in the course are to be provided.
Space & Interior Design (C64) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for creativity and flair in space-related design as evidenced by project or portfolio work. Sport & Wellness Management (C81) Applicants should have a strong interest in sport & events management, passion for promoting healthy & wellness mindsets, and a keen drive to develop sport for all lifestyles. A statement of interest to join the program along with applicants' background in sport, personal achievements and career aspirations will be required.
Visual Communication (C63) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for creativity and flair in visual-related design as evidenced by project or portfolio work. Film, Sound & Video (N82)

Applicants should possess strong creative abilities and a desire to express themselves through the visual media. If you are shortlisted for an interview, you will be required to present a non-returnable portfolio. Mass Communication (N67)

REPUBLIC POLYTECHNIC (RP)

Aerospace Avionics (R20) Applicants should possess a strong aptitude for engineering in general, especially Aircraft Systems, i.e., the electronic systems such as Communication Systems, Navigation systems, Instrument Systems and Electrical Systems. A portfolio of engineering related projects done by the student is preferred.
Aerospace Engineering (Quality Systems) (R40) Applicants should demonstrate a strong desire to work in the aviation industry. They should have a interest in aircraft parts like engines, airframe and instrumentation. They should be individuals with a keen eye for details and accuracy and a passion for aircraft.
Communication and Information Design (R32) Applicants should be imaginative and inquisitive, with good general knowledge and interest in current affairs. While you do not need to be perfect, ability to write clearly and with logical structure would certainly be a plus point. The ability to speak confidently will also set you apart. A portfolio of work in journalism, creative writing, page design, photography and/or artwork is preferred.
Customer Relationship and Service Management (R34) Applicants should naturally be extroverted in nature, with a dedicated passion in meeting people. They should have a positive service attitude and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently. Prospective students should possess the potential to be articulate, poised and able to handle situations of pressure. The industry is demanding and prospective students should be resilient individuals who can manage the physical demands of the industry.
Design for Interactivity (R36) Applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in art, design, and/or design-related disciplines such as: interaction design, service design, architecture, urban planning, interior design, product/packaging design, graphic/illustrative design, motion graphics, and web site/interactive multimedia design.  They must have a strong sense of curiosity, imagination, and eagerness to explore form, function, and aesthetics in their creative endeavours.  Providing a portfolio of past works, work-in-progress, sketches/drawings etc. upon request, will be advantageous.  Applicants should mention any relevant work experience and/or awards/prizes/accolades for art and design related fields.  Technical skills are not a prerequisite, but it would be desirable for applicants to possess basic/intermediate computer literacy, with some working knowledge of computer-aided design software packages from 2D vector-based drafting to 3D modelling.
Digital Entertainment Electronics (R38) This program aims to equip students with knowledge and technical skills in the area of digital consumer electronics, focusing on the convergence of digital-based audio, video and wireless technologies.

Applicants should have interest in technologies and engineering principles behind latest gadgets, and have participated in club activities or competitions related to electronics.
Game Design (R35) Applicants should possess or have the potential for strong interest in the Events Management industry. They should have a positive service attitude, be enthusiastic and extremely hands-on in learning the ropes of the industry. They should preferably enjoy working and engaging people from all levels.  A good command of English Language, an analytical mindset and sharp business acumen will be advantageous for students handling the intensive academic rigour of this Diploma.
Hotel and Hospitality Management (R37) Applicants should naturally be extroverted in nature, with a dedicated passion in meeting people. They should have a positive service attitude with a knack for delighting people and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently. They should be resilient individuals who can manage the physical demands of the industry.
Integrated Events Management (R28) Applicants should possess or have the potential for strong interest in the Events Management industry. They should have a positive service attitude, be enthusiastic and extremely hands-on in learning the ropes of the industry. They should preferably enjoy working and engaging people from all levels.  A good command of English Language, an analytical mindset and sharp business acumen will be advantageous for students handling the intensive academic rigour of this Diploma.
Interactive and Digital Media (R31) Applicants should possess strong interest in developing creative digital content and technology solutions for digital media applications. They should be eager to get their hands dirty creating animation, editing audio and video, and writing programs for entertainment and games. Applicants who have dabbled with multimedia, photography, video, animation or other forms of visual or sonic arts will have an advantage, and should present their portfolios for consideration.
New Media (R19) Applicants should have a passion for design, production, and/or interactive development, and be able to show that passion in a portfolio of their work. They should be able to talk about their creativity and interest in these visual arts, and demonstrate an effective creative process through their work. A background in the areas of art and design is preferred.
Outdoor and Adventure Learning (R33) Due to the nature of the outdoor and adventure learning job requirements, candidates seeking admission into the Diploma in Outdoor and Adventure Learning (DOAL) should enjoy working with youth in the outdoor environment consisting of natural and adventurous elements. The course will demand from students’ involvement in physical activity and water based experiential activities. Additionally, students should be able to show confidence in water whilst donning a personal floatation device.

DOAL candidates are allowed to enroll into RP on the condition that they pass a medical examination by a certified medical general practitioner. The fee for the medical examination is to be borne by the applicant.

Candidates who do not pass the medical examination will not be accepted into the Diploma in Outdoor and Adventure Learning.
Sonic Arts (R24) The Diploma in Sonic Arts (DSA) aims to help students develop creativity and confidence to express themselves using sound as medium. This is achieved through a curriculum which balances the importance of ideas and imagination with the necessary technical competence in stretching the technological tools of today. Students will discover firsthand the exciting world of sound and music through critical listening and analysis, recording, sound engineering, studio techniques and electronic synthesis techniques. Synergy and team-work are also important attributes developed through the problem-based learning process which emphasizes collaboration with peers from DSA and the other diploma programmes offered by the School of Technology for the Arts (STA).

While familiarity with a musical instrument will no doubt come in handy, it is not a pre-requisite for admission to DSA. The applicant, first and foremost, should be one who is inseparable from her/his music, and nurtures dreams of crossing the chasm from being music consumers to originators and producers of sonic art work.
Technology and Arts Management (R25) Applicants should possess strong interest in the arts, either Performing or Visual Arts. A foundation in humanities subjects or experience in arts activities such as music, dance, drama, drawing, creative writing, etc is preferred. A good command of English, an analytical mindset and interest in research, a good aesthetic sense, leadership skills and positive service attitude are advantageous for students who wish to embark on this course.

The course prepares students for a wide range of careers within the arts industry, such as arts companies, galleries, museums and arts centres. In addition, this course will equip students with options for further study and transferable skills in many other careers.

Examples of possible careers include: stage manager, production manager, theatre technician, costume and set designer, light and sound designer, arts administrator, front of house manager, box office manager, arts facility customer service, arts event organiser, etc.
Wellness, Lifestyle and Spa Management (R44) Applicants should have strong interest in wellness and lifestyle business in the hospitality and tourism industry. They should have a positive service attitude, be enthusiastic and extremely hands-on in learning the ropes of the industry. They should preferably enjoy working and engaging people from all levels.  A good command of English Language, an analytical mindset and sharp business acumen will be advantageous for students handling the intensive academic rigour of this Diploma.

TEMASEK POLYTECHNIC (TP)

Apparel Design & Merchandising (T20) Applicants must show a strong inclination and passion for design as evidenced by their portfolio of works. The portfolio is essentially a collection of creative expressions such as drawings, photography, video clips, websites, design work or doodles etc. Works beyond school assignments are strongly encouraged. Other materials such as awards, commendations and citations should also be included. Applicants should provide their portfolio for evaluation when shortlisted for an interview.
Communications & Media Management (T40) Applicants should be creative and focused, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and should have a passion for the media industry. Applicants with previous or current media-related work experience will also have a distinct advantage.
Culinary & Catering Management (T18) Applicants should possess a strong desire for creating great service experiences in the food and beverage industry. They have a need to be hands-on where they can display their creative energies in the culinary arts while at the same time being inclined towards entrepreneurial pursuits within the food & beverage industry.
Cyber & Digital Security (T15) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for IT and a passion for being defenders of information systems. They should also be analytical. If shortlisted for interview, applicants should be able to show evidence of past IT accomplishments. Evidence of special skills/talents in the form of awards, commendations and citations should also be included.
Early Childhood Studies (New) (T54) Applicants should demonstrate passion, enthusiasm and an aptitude for working with young children. They should have a strong interest in how children think, behave and develop, and possess a strong desire to play a role in shaping children’s lives.

All applicants are required to provide a statement of interest which should include:
- reasons for applying for the course
- description of personal attributes (e.g. strengths and weaknesses) and career aspirations
- description of previous experiences working with children, if any.

Environment Design (T46) Applicants must show a strong inclination and passion for design as evidenced by their portfolio of works. Financial Business Informatics (T17) Applicants should possess a strong interest in working in the banking and finance sectors. They should be analytical and interested in learning about how IT systems could be used to enhance processes in the banking and finance industries. If shortlisted for interview, applicants should be able to show evidence of special skills/talents in the form of awards, commendations and citations.
Game & Entertainment Technology (T16) Applicants should possess a strong inclination for designing and developing digital games. Our graduates would be equipped to develop games for educational purposes, entertainment or marketing. Applicants should be creative, analytical and strong in subjects such as mathematics. If shortlisted for interview, applicants should be able to show evidence of passion for IT. Examples of relevant projects that the applicant has worked on and/or evidence of special skills/talents in the form of awards, commendations and citations should also be included.
Gerontological Management Studies (T53) Applicants should enjoy interacting with people including those 50 years and over, be enthusiastic, and have good all-round communication skills. They should also have a desire to study business and social science subjects, and a high interest in devising or providing innovative services, programmes and products which meet a range of needs. An understanding of current trends and developments in the silver industry would be beneficial.

Hospitality & Tourism Management (T08) Applicants should possess a positive attitude and be passionate about providing excellent service to others particularly in the hospitality & tourism business. Their strong desire to be with people presumes the ability to communicate well and be responsive to the needs of others. A career in the Hospitality and Tourism industry would be one they would be strongly drawn to.
Information Technology (T30) Applicants should possess a strong inclination and passion for Information Technology (IT). If shortlisted for interview, applicants should be able to show evidence of past IT accomplishments. These could take the form of a live demonstration of a computer program or example of a website developed by the applicant. A portfolio of the applicant's past IT-related work or a slide presentation of past IT experience would be helpful. Applicants are encouraged to show samples of work that go beyond school assignments. Other evidence of special skills/talents in the form of awards, commendations and citations should also be included.
Interactive Media Design (T21) Applicants must show a strong inclination and passion for design as evidenced by their portfolio of works. The portfolio is essentially a collection of creative expressions such as drawings, photography, video clips, websites, design work or doodles etc. Works beyond school assignments are strongly encouraged. Other materials such as awards, commendations and citations should also be included. Applicants should provide their portfolio for evaluation when shortlisted for an interview.
Interactive Media Informatics (T34) Applicants should have a passion for creating dynamic websites and web applications using 3D animation, videos and other interactive multimedia elements. If shortlisted for interview, applicants should show evidence of web design projects or other IT-related work that has been completed. Evidence of special skills/talents in the form of awards, commendations and citations should be included.
Interior Architecture & Design (T22) Applicants must show a strong inclination and passion for design as evidenced by their portfolio of works. The portfolio is essentially a collection of creative expressions such as drawings, photography, video clips, websites, design work or doodles etc. Works beyond school assignments are strongly encouraged. Leisure & Resort Management (T19) Applicants must possess the right attitude and knowledge to be a professional in the business of creating memorable experiences in key sectors of the leisure industry such as attractions, resorts, clubs and cruises. Possessing confidence and good communication skills, they will enjoy interacting with and responding to the needs of people of all levels through the exposure that they will get when working on resort and leisure business projects and during internship. They would have to be creative, alert and proactive with the ability to think on their feet in solving real problems. A positive attitude and flair for providing good service is also required for applicants who hope to thrive in the course and in the leisure and resort industry in the future.
Mobile & Network Services (T42) Applicants should have an interest in creating applications for mobile devices such as handphones and PDAs and working with networks and data systems. If shortlisted for interview, applicants should be able to show evidence of IT-related work or a slide presentation of his/her past IT experience. Other evidence of special skills/talents in the form of awards, commendations and citations should be included.
Moving Images (T23) Applicants must show a strong inclination and passion for design as evidenced by their portfolio of works.
