| New Media
(R19) |
Applicants
should have a passion for design,
production, and/or interactive development,
and be able to show that passion in a
portfolio of their work. They should be able
to talk about their creativity and interest
in these visual arts, and demonstrate an
effective creative process through their
work. A background in the areas of art and
design is preferred. |
| Outdoor and
Adventure Learning (R33) |
Due to the
nature of the outdoor and adventure learning
job requirements, candidates seeking
admission into the Diploma in Outdoor and
Adventure Learning (DOAL) should enjoy
working with youth in the outdoor
environment consisting of natural and
adventurous elements. The course will demand
from students’ involvement in physical
activity and water based experiential
activities. Additionally, students should be
able to show confidence in water whilst
donning a personal floatation device.
DOAL candidates are allowed to enroll into
RP on the condition that they pass a medical
examination by a certified medical general
practitioner. For information on the medical
conditions and medical form for examination,

The fee for the medical examination is to be
borne by the applicant.
Candidates who do not pass the medical
examination will not be accepted into the

| Sonic Arts
(R24) |
The Diploma
in Sonic Arts (DSA) aims to help students
develop creativity and confidence to express
themselves using sound as medium. This is
achieved through a curriculum which balances
the importance of ideas and imagination with
the necessary technical competence in
stretching the technological tools of today.
Students will discover firsthand the
exciting world of sound and music through
critical listening and analysis, recording,
sound engineering, studio techniques and
electronic synthesis techniques. Synergy and
team-work are also important attributes
developed through the problem-based learning
process which emphasizes collaboration with
peers from DSA and the other diploma
programmes offered by the School of
Technology for the Arts (STA).
While familiarity with a musical instrument
will no doubt come in handy, it is not a
pre-requisite for admission to DSA. The
applicant, first and foremost, should be one
who is inseparable from her/his music, and
nurtures dreams of crossing the chasm from
being music consumers to originators and
producers of sonic art work. |

and Arts Management (R25) |
Applicants
should possess strong interest in the arts,
either Performing or Visual Arts. A
foundation in humanities subjects or
experience in arts activities such as music,
dance, drama, drawing, creative writing, etc
is preferred. A good command of English, an
analytical mindset and interest in research,
a good aesthetic sense, leadership skills
and positive service attitude are
advantageous for students who wish to embark
on this course.
The course prepares students for a wide
range of careers within the arts industry,
such as arts companies, galleries, museums
and arts centres. In addition, this course
will equip students with options for further
study and transferable skills in many other
careers.

manager, production manager, theatre
technician, costume and set designer, light
and sound designer, arts administrator,
