5. What is the JPSAE's definition of special talent and the selection criteria
for admission adopted by the polytechnics?

|
|
Students who are considered for admission under JPSAE include:
A) Those who demonstrate outstanding intellectual abilities or strong passion/aptitude
either through:
-
work attachments;
-
sustained involvement in projects; or
- outstanding performance in competitions like the international Olympiads
B) Those who possess exceptional talent in areas such as leadership, community service,
entrepreneurship, sports and arts.
For both categories, applicants will be assessed based on the following indicators:

Portfolio of awards or achievements;
-
Performance at selection audition / trial; and / or
-
Performance at selection interview; and / or
- Recommendations from school principals or relevant organisations.
