1. What is the difference between JAE and JPSAE?
|
|
|
The JAE is the
main admission
exercise for
fresh O-level
graduates
applying to join
JCs/MI, ITE and
polytechnics.
Admission under
the JAE is based
purely on the
ELR2B2 'O'-level aggregate score (which refers to the
aggregate score of English Language, 2 relevant subjects (for the course applied)
and 2 other best subjects) of the students. Under the JPSAE, the polytechnics
will consider applicants who have special aptitude and talents, based on the polytechnics'
own, independent JPSAE criterion. The polytechnics will consider applicants
who demonstrate a strong passion or aptitude through work attachments, sustained
involvement in projects, and outstanding performance in competitions like the Maths/Science
Olympiad. The polytechnics will also consider applicants who possess exceptional
talents in areas such as leadership, community service, entrepreneurship, sports
and arts. An applicant can concurrently apply via both the JAE and JPSAE.
