The Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise (JPAE) is organized by the five Polytechnics: Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), Republic Polytechnic (RP), Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP). It was introduced in 1992. In this exercise, applicants are to indicate in the application form their preference for the courses for which they wish to be considered. Applicants are required to submit only ONE application, which will be considered jointly by the Polytechnics concerned.

The following categories of applicants may apply through the JPAE:

1. Holders of relevant Higher NITEC or ITC/CBS and NITEC/NTC-2 (taken in Singapore) who have sat for "O" / "N" level;
2. Final semester graduating full-time ITE students;
3. Holders of STPM;
4. Holders of SPM.

Note:

Those who have Nitec or Higher Nitec International qualifications (attained overseas), attended courses at or graduated from a University or graduated from a Polytechnic are NOT eligible to apply under the JPAE. If they do so, their applications will be invalidated.  However, ex-polytechnic students who did not graduate may apply but your application will be processed separately by the respective polytechnics who will only notify of the outcome before the start of the term.

** Final-year ITE students' JPAE posting results are dependant on the date of release of their final results in early April.  As the academic term for AY2010/2011 will begin on 15 April 2010 (for RP) and 19 April 2010 (for NYP, NP, SP & TP), the polytechnics will try to expedite the enrolment of these successful final year ITE students.
